Why soy?
Soy candles are a perfect all natural alternative to paraffin candles, they burn 30-50% longer, cleaner than paraffin and have 95% less soot.
What to expect on the first burn
Candles have memories so, when you light your candle the first time, let it burn until the wax melts to the outer edge of the jar. This will ensure you get the cleanest burn and longest burn time with your candle. After your first burn, remember to trim the wick so there is no wax build up on the end!
Wick details
Only all natural fiber wicks are used in DH Candles, they are self trimming as the candle burns down. Sometimes, however, a black "mushroom" may appear at the top of the wick. This is actually unburned carbon that the wick has collected. Once the candle has cooled you can trim this off if you wish and relight your candle.
Scent "throw"
DHC scents are a blend of essential oils with just the right amount of scent so it's not overwhelming. If you are burning candles in a large open space, you might need to burn a few to get the maximum scent throw in your area. DHC 8oz jars, for example, do best in rooms 400 square feet or less.
Do soy wax candles have more scent?
Soy wax holds 10% scent per weight as compared to paraffin wax which holds 6% scent per weight. This means DH candles are more intense and will fill your home with long-lasting fragrance.
Glass Jars
Naturally Imperfect
DH candle jars are can all be repurposed once the candle has been used. Remove the wick tab and clean out the remaining wax using warm soapy water. Height - 3.5" / Diameter - 2.6"
Sometimes soy wax candles will have changes in color and depending on the temperature in your home (cold, hot, humid) your candle can look "imperfect". These changes are all a result of being an all natural candle. Once you light the candle and the wax begins to melt, all imperfections will melt into the pool and there will be no change to the scent of your candle.
How can I make my candles last longer?
Soy wax candles burn longer as long as the wick is trimmed each time and you allow the candle to form a pool (melted wax) to the edge of the jar.
